ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A blast of a project for students in the greater Syracuse area as they launched off homemade rockets. It's all part of the Onondaga Summer Camp at OCC.

The kids are enrolled in the Aerospace Engineering program, which has run all week. The rockets are powered by water pressure and were built by the children.

"They have a ball and the greatest thing about these type of classes is, in all of the classes I teach here, you know, it's almost like I trick them. They have no idea that they're learning so much because they're having so much fun. So it kind of hides it a little bit," said instructor Scott Stagnitta.

"It's really a hands-on project and you're doing more than just playing a game, you're actually learning as you're building," participant Cal Niezabytowski.

More than 200 children between the ages of eight and 14 are signed up for the three weekly sessions through the end of the month.
