UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica Police said they are seeing a big spike in vehicle larcenies. Police said there were 77 reported larcenies from parked motor vehicles last month, up from 28 in June. That is a 175 percent increase.
This map shows the areas where most larcenies were reported. Police said in just about every case, purses, and electronics were left visible in the car. They are urging residents not to leave anything valuable inside the car, and to make sure the doors are locked at all times.
