CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Authorities have identified the Binghamton man who was found dead in Cayuga Lake.

The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office says 69-year-old Roman Lewkowicz was found unresponsive in the water in the Springport Cove area of the lake. They say he had been on a boat with three friends when he waded into the water.

Lewkowicz was taken to Auburn Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are still waiting for autopsy results from the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
