By: Web Staff

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police are investigating a shooting in the city. It happened around 9 p.m. on Tuesday at 123 McKinnley Avenue.

Police said Shateak Allen, 19, was shot with what appears to be a shotgun blast of bird shot. He was hit by 20 to 25 small projectiles in the legs and back area. Allen's injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Police said it appears the gun was fired from a vacant lot across from where Allen was hit but that witnesses were not able to provide a suspect description.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Syracuse Police Department at (315) 442-5222.
