Man threatens boy while on bath salts
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Police had another encounter with someone believed to be high on bath salts. This time, the incident was in Syracuse.
Police say Jesse Claflin, 31, grabbed a five-year-old boy on the porch of a Seymour Street home and put a knife to his throat. The boy's uncle immediately punched Claflin, so he let the boy go and took off. He was eventually corned by police and put the knife to his own throat. He surrendered without incident after about an hour.
Claflin told police he had ingested bath salts. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation and charged with unlawful imprisonment, menacing, weapons possession and endangering the welfare of a child.
