Second mosquito pool tests positive for West Nile virus
ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The West Nile virus has been discovered in Onondaga County for the second time this year.
County health officials say evidence of the virus was found at a mosquito pool near Midler Avenue in Syracuse.
The evidence comes from a sample taken less than a week and a half ago.
The first case was reported last month along Route 298 in Cicero.
Health officials are urging residents to take measures to avoid being bitten and reducing potential breeding grounds.
