CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Authorities say the Binghamton man who was found dead in Cayuga Lake this week died of natural causes.

Roman Lewkowicz, 69, was found unresponsive in the water Tuesday afternoon in the Springport Cove area of the lake. Deputies say he had been on a pontoon boat with three friends when he waded into the water.

Lewkowicz was taken to Auburn Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Autopsy results show he died of natural causes related to a medical event.

The investigation has been closed.
