ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Car lovers are revving up their engines. The Syracuse Nationals car show kicks into high gear this weekend.
This marks the 13th year for the event, which is expected to bring close to 8,000 classic cars to the State Fairgrounds.
In addition to all the vehicles, there will also be more than a dozen bands, drag racing and fireworks shows Friday and Saturday.
Some of the top pinstripe artists will also be on hand, auctioning off items to benefit the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center.
And new this year, owners of more recent cars will be able to show off their rides.
"We're calling it American Muscle Sunday. On Sunday, we're going to open up the show field to any car up until even 2012 or 2013 if they're out now. They can come on the fairgrounds basically for $35, which is the price of two tickets, coming to the front gate, and they can come and be part of the show on Sunday," said Syracuse Nationals Director Robert O’Connor.
The Syracuse Nationals runs from Friday through Sunday.
