HUDSON VALLEY -- Senator Chuck Schumer also expressed his condolences at an event in the Hudson Valley following Friday's tragedy in Colorado.

"We do know that 12 innocent people including a little baby, lost their lives and our hearts go out to them and their families. These are the kinds of tragedies that you just can't even fathom. Senseless. People going to the movies to have a good time, and then their lives are snuffed out. Horrible, horrible," said Sen. Charles Schumer, (D) New York.

Schumer said it's now important to do everything we can to secure public places and ensure the safety of all Americans.
