COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. -- Sunday is induction day in Cooperstown, but before they step up to the podium, the stars of yesterday stepped up to the tee box. Saturday was the annual golf outing, giving inductee, Barry Larkin, a chance to mingle with some of the guys who are already enshrined in the hall.
Larkin will go in with the late Cubbie Ron Santo, who passed away in 2010. While they will be the focus of this weekend's ceremonies, it's a special weekend for all of the former ball players who have returned to the home of the Hall of Fame.
"What a wonderful city Cooperstown is, and it's just so much fun to come back here, reunite yourself with some of the guys that you see once a year," said George Brett, 1999 Hall of Fame Class.
"I really don't understand why more players don't come back because the Hall of Fame does such a great job for us former players, and you can do as much as you want or you can do as least amount as you want. You can come here, and see old friends and people you may never see again in your lifetime," said Al Kaline, 1980 Hall of Fame Class.
Sunday's ceremony is at 1:30 p.m. YNN will have local coverage of the entire event.
