WEEDSPORT, N.Y. -- The sounds of motorcycles on the streets of Weedsport on Sunday was meant to serve as a reminder about the issue of child sexual abuse. About 65 bikers teamed up for the Kruize for Kids ride, raising money for the Child Advocacy Center of Cayuga County.
The center is farely new so officials decided to organize this event to get the word out that services are available locally.
"We've been in operation for a little over a year now, and we need to get the word out that it's available and that we're servicing children there," said Joe Weeks, Cayuga County Child Sexual Abuse Taskforce.
The Child Advocacy Center provides a multitude of services to victims of Child Sexual Abuse. For more information visit cacofcayugacounty.org, or to report suspected abuse call the New York State Abuse Hotline at 1-800-342-3720.
