AURORA, CO -- Officials are still working to find answers as to why James Holmes shot more than 170 people during a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises", killing 12.

On Saturday, officials in Aurora, Colorado removed all major threats from Holmes' booby trapped apartment. FBI agents are now sifting through the evidence that has been collected. Investigators said those who were evacuated from the nearby buildings have been allowed back in, except for those in Holmes' building.

A neighbor who lives below Holmes, said she was close to opening the door to his apartment to complain about his loud music Friday night, which is the music he had set to a timer, meant to play while he was at the theater. Investigators said behind Holme's unlocked door was a tripwire that would have set off explosives.

"I went upstairs and knocked on the door, quite a few times and realized that it was possibly unlocked. And I thought about peering my head in there and putting my hand to the door handle and just yelling at them to say 'Hey, turn it down'. And I just decided not to do that, I just had a trepidation that a little voice told me no, let the cops handle it," said Kaitlyn Fonzi, Holmes' neighbor.

Officials said in recent months, Holmes was able to legally buy thousands of rounds of ammunition. They said it's clear that Holmes spent a lot of time planning the attack. The University of Colorado is now investigating if Holmes used his position as a grad student in the neuroscience program to get dangerous materials.

Officials have not yet released any information about a motive in the shooting. Holmes is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
