BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- NYSEG is hosting a series of workshops to help non-residential customers apply for storm recovery funds.

Monday's workshop was held at the Vestal Public Library.

Following Tropical Storm Irene and the remnants of Lee, the New York State Public Service Commission approved NYSEG's request to disperse up to $7 million to assist eligible businesses, farms and not-for-profits. But so far, only $1.6 million has been handed out.

Throughout this week, workshops will be held in Owego, Tioga, Sidney, Monticello and Margaretville to help customers apply.

Eligibility for the grants will be determined through the application review process.
