Bill honoring local fallen Marine passes the House
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A bill aimed at honoring a fallen soldier from Central New York has passed the House.
Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle introduced the legislation to re-name the United States Post Office in Baldwinsville after Corporal Kyle Schneider. The 23-year-old was killed by an improvised explosive device while on combat patrol in the Helmand province of Afghanistan last June.
Corporal Schneider was a graduate of Baker High School in Baldwinsville and attended Onondaga Community College.
The bill is now headed to the Senate for approval.
