ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Onondaga County 911 dispatchers are operating out of a backup location after the call center was hit by lightning during storms early Thursday morning.

Commissioner Bill Bleyle says the lightning strike caused an outage in some equipment at the Onondaga Hill location. Bleyle says some of the systems need to be restored, but he does not know how long that will take.

The backup center, which usually hosts training and drills, has the same equipment and capabilities as the regular 911 center.

The commissioner says he does not believe any calls were lost during the transfer.
