CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Cayuga County Sheriff's office says speed and alcohol led to the crash that sent four young men to the hospital in Moravia Wednesday night.
The crash happened just after 9 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Route 38A and Sayles Road.
Deputies say Mathew Pidgeon, 21, of Auburn, and three teens left a party in the Town of Niles that involved underage drinking before the crash. They say Pidgeon was driving at a high rate of speed and lost control of the car on a curve. All four were thrown from the car.
The passengers included Joshua Gould, 19, of Owasco, Dominic Petrocci, 19, of Skaneateles, and Daniel Beck, 18, also of Skaneateles.
All four were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Pidgeon now faces several charges including aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, DWI and failure to reduce speed on a curve.
