After a few stormy days in the Rochester area, Friday turned out to be just right. We found something on Lake Ontario that you certainly don't see every day.
Cali, a three-year-old English Bulldog, is also an award-winning surfer. She and owner Cameron Johnson of Fairport have entered and won dog surf competitions.
They enjoyed a sunny day out on the lake, where Cali showed off her "hang twenty" skills on some not-so-epic waves.
"I put her on a skateboard, and she took to that pretty good. So I rented a surf board, put her on her first wave and she rode it all the way in," Cameron said.
"It's 99 percent balance. She's got great balance, low center of gravity, stays really low to the board."
As for how Cali learned how to surf, it started in the Pacific Ocean. Cameron used to live in San Diego, and was stationed in the Marine Corps there.
