The Liverpool mother accused of killing her newborn baby will be sentenced today. Nicole DeJaynes, 30, pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this month as part of a plea agreement. Our Iris St. Meran has the details.

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- As part of that plea agreement, Nicole DeJaynes will receive 13 years in prison for the death of her daughter in January of 2011. The baby girl was found in a dumpster wrapped in a blanket by a man looking for wood.

Liverpool police named her Isabella and had funeral services for her where a number of people from the community came out.

This case was originally set to go to trial after DeJaynes rejected an initial plea deal back in January. Moments before jury selection was set to begin, she pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter.

Autopsy reports showed the baby was born alive. The report also lists suffocation as the cause of death. According to prosecutors, the 30-year-old claimed she did not hurt the baby intentionally and she thought the child was stillborn.

Her sentencing will take place later this morning at Onondaga County Court.
