Two injured in runaway boat incident
CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A runaway boat left two people in the water and another unconscious. It happened on Saturday on Lake Ontario. Cayuga County Sheriff’s deputies patrolling the lake spotted the boat moving erratically.
Christopher Pitcher, 19, and Matthew Pitcher, 22, were in the water yelling for help. Ashlie Crawford, 21, was still on the boat but was knocked unconscious when the boat suddenly veered to the left. She later regained consciousness and stopped the boat.
The cause of the crash was determined to be mechanical.
