Syracuse Police investigating armed robbery
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police are investigating an armed robbery at a grocery store in the city.
Detectives say a man walked into Poolers Grocery and Deli on South Lowell Avenue around 4 p.m. Tuesday. He pulled out a gun and demanded money from a 64-year-old customer. A store clerk intervened and all three men wound up getting into a struggle.
The suspect eventually got away, but wasn't able to steal anything.
The suspect is described as a white man, thin build and about six feet tall. Witnesses said he had what appeared to be a red shirt wrapped around his head and face and was wearing a short sleeved gray colored t-shirt over a long sleeve white shirt at the time. They also say he may have suffered a laceration to the back of his head during the struggle.
