Domestic dispute results in a stabbing

FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Franklin County man is recovering after being stabbed in Fort Covington. State Police and medical responders were dispatched to a home shortly after midnight for a person who had fallen out of bed.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that Wayne Henault, 64, was suffering from a puncture wound to his back. He was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center for emergency surgery.

State Police say Henault and his live-in girlfriend, Joan Terrel, 64, were having an argument when Terrel stabbed him with a knife. Terrel was arrested and charged with first-degree assault. She's being held on $10,000 bail.
