Empire Farm Days begins next week
The 79th annual Empire Farm Days begins in a week. There are a number of things to do and animals to see at the show in Seneca Falls. Our Iris St. Meran spoke with organizers, who stopped by our YNN offices to give us a sneak peak, and they brought a special guest.

SENECA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Empire Farm Days starts next week in Seneca Falls. The event has been around for 70 years. There is a lot to learn, see, and do including tractor test drives and live horse seminars.
Melanie Wickham, show director, says this year there's a new wind energy center. In that center, farmers, land owners and small businesses will be shown how to make the most of energy on their land.
Craig and Christopher Todd, farm owners, will be doing goat care demonstrations. Craig Todd said they will show visitors how to handle the goats through a pen and chute system in addition to how to vaccinate them and trim their feet. This is to give people an idea of what to look for if they're considering getting goats.
If you're going to head out to Empire Farm Days, be prepared with your walking shoes and drink lots of water.
