CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- In Cayuga County, investigators are looking into a motorcycle crash that left a man in critical condition.

The crash happened at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday on State Route 34 near Willowbrook Drive in the Town of Fleming.

Sheriff David Gould says Stephen McGivern, 70, of Moravia, was driving his motorcycle when he crossed the center line and crashed into a tractor trailer. McGivern was flown to Upstate University Hospital where he is in critical condition.

Gould says it appears as though a mechanical failure on the motorcycle may have led to the crash.
