ROME, N.Y. -- A pedestrian dies after being hit by a truck in Oneida County. It happened on Pennystreet Road in Rome on Saturday morning.

State Police said Olga Lastowicka, 88, was trying to cross the street to get her mail when she was hit. She was taken to Rome Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police are still investigating the accident. There is no word on whether or not the driver will be ticketed.
