ALLEGANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- A teenager is facing attempted murder charges after State Police say he shot his stepfather. Troopers say Robert Garrison, 60, of Wellsville was shot twice while in his Route 30 home Tuesday afternoon.

He was taken to Jones Memorial Hospital and then transferred by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

His 16-year-old stepson is now charged with attempted murder, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

Troopers say they are continuing to discuss charges and the ongoing investigation with the Allegany County District Attorney.
