Syracuse police investigate possible scam

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Police are warning residents of a possible scam on Syracuse's west side. Police say they're investigating an incident where two men made up a story to try to get into a woman's home.

The woman told police two men came to her door around 7 a.m. Wednesday. They told her they were doing construction near her home and requested personal information. Police say one of the males then asked the woman to use her bathroom, and was seen wandering around her bedroom shortly after.

One man is described as 5’10” with an average build. The other man is shorter with a mustache. Police say the suspects may be driving a white Dodge Ram pickup truck with Florida license plates.

Police want to remind residents to never let a stranger into their home and if you see any suspicious activity, call 911.
