UNION SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a burglary and arson in Union Springs. They said it appears a fire at a vacant property on Park Street was intentionally set fire back on July 30. It was also broken into and burglarized prior to the fire.
James Workman has been charged with burglary and petit larceny for allegedly stealing copper pipes. He is also considered a person of interest in the arson investigation. Workman is being held in Cayuga County Jail on $10,000 bail. Anyone with information about either investigations is asked to contact the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office at (315) 253-3545.
