Two men accused in string of larcenies

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two men were arrested following a series of larcenies in Oneida County. Sheriff's deputies and police were called to Seneca Avenue in the village of Oneida Castle around 1:45 a.m. for a report of a car larceny.

That's when authorities say they located the two men carrying a large section of yard fence. The men were found to be in possession of stolen property from several areas in Oneida Castle, Vernon, and Sherrill.

One man was charged with petit larceny while the other was released pending further investigation.

Anyone who may be a victim of larcenies in Sherrill is asked to call police at (315) 363-3200. All others can contact the sheriff's office at (315) 736-0141.
