SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It was a colorful day at Destiny USA in Syracuse as the Central New York Gladiolus Show returned to the mall for another year.

Sunday marked the show's 61st year and its 12th at the mall.

More than 100 varieties of gladiolus were on display from about 20 exhibitors.

Organizers say that while the show flowers take some work, they're also something that can be enjoyed by anyone at home.

"They make an excellent backdrop for a garden because they are taller and actually help round out a garden pretty nice," said Fred Miller, CNY Gladiolus Show Co-Chair.

Awards were handed out at the show in several categories, including arrangements, baskets and vases.
