CLAY, N.Y. -- A Liverpool man is in the hospital after getting hit by a car in the town of Clay. Sheriff's deputies were called to the corner of Oswego Road and Redwing Drive around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say Michael Cardwell, 19, was attempting to cross the road when he walked into the path of a car. We're told the driver did have a green light, so she was not ticketed.

Cardwell was taken to Upstate University Hospital with a head injury and is in critical condition.

An investigation into the accident is continuing.
