CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Cayuga County Sheriff's office is investigating vandalism at a local cemetery.

Numerous grave stones at the Weedsport Rural Cemetery in the Town of Brutus were found tipped over or damaged Wednesday. Officials say it happened sometime between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.

About 20 head stones and monuments were affected. Some decorations and flags were also scattered throughout the cemetery.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in or near the cemetery is asked to call the sheriff's office at (315) 253-4869.
