Attempted rape suspect indicted
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A Syracuse man has been indicted by a grand jury after police say he climbed a neighbor's window and tried raping her.
Ross Sanford, 43, has been charged with two counts of burglary, one as a sexually motivated felony and attempted sexual abuse.
Investigators say Sanford used a ladder to get into an apartment last July. He then tried raping the victim while she was sleeping.
Sanford is also registered level three sex offender from a 1987 conviction for first degree sexual abuse involving a 10-year-old male.
