JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A family was left homeless after their house burned to the ground in the Jefferson County town of Wilna.
The Carthage Fire Department arrived at this house fire on Selos Road a little before 3 p.m. Wednesday. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported.
Crews say the house sustained extensive damaged, leaving two residents homeless.
The Carthage Fire Chief says that road construction on a nearby bridge made extinguishing efforts slightly more difficult.
Fire crews will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
