ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Bikers from around Central New York came together Saturday to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. More than 200 riders took part in the MDA Ride for Life.
The motorcyclists rode 60 miles, taking off from Liverpool and heading into Meridian in Cayuga County before looping back.
Organizers say they're happy to get so much support, especially because the money raised stays local.
"We just announced that Upstate has gotten a huge grant from MDA for research. That money comes right back to Syracuse and the greater Syracuse area and Onondaga County. That means a lot to people," said Jeff Crouse, Ride for Life co-chair.
This was the sixth annual Ride for Life. Organizers say the ride has raised about $100,000 over the last five years.
