OLD FORGE, N.Y. -- Authorities are investigating a shooting death in Old Forge.

State Police and officers from the Town of Webb Police Department were on the scene at the Forge Motel Saturday afternoon. Troopers say Catherine Koestner, 30, of Utica, was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center following the incident around 1 a.m. Saturday, where she died from her injuries.

According to police, Koestner was with a witness at the time of the shooting and that person is cooperating with investigators.
