ALBANY, N.Y. -- The issue of hydrofracking has New Yorkers almost evenly divided. And fearing signals that Governor Cuomo plans to lift the state moratorium, opponents are making their voices heard.

Hydrofracking opponents are calling this a gut-check moment for Governor Cuomo. They say the process jeopardizes water, air and food quality.

Some hydrofracking supporters include land owners hoping for much-needed revenue from hydrofracking.

Actress Debra Winger is an opponent of hydrofracking. She says the issue has already divided her community along the Marcellus Shale.

"I have neighbors that don't wave at me anymore, because they really believe that they do what they want to do on their property and up until now, I really haven't cared what they do on their property, but their property is no longer just theirs. We're all connected," Winger said.

Monday's anti-fracking rally finished with a walk towards the Capitol and entertainment in front of the state DEC offices.
