NEW YORK STATE FAIR -- The annual Women's Day Reception and Luncheon was held at the Empire Theater Wednesday morning.
Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner were both in attendance. They both say women will play a big role in deciding our future leaders, but they'll be considering a wide variety of issues.
"Women are concerned, just as men are, just as all Americans are, about jobs, about the economy, about the fact that we've had unemployment over eight percent for 40 plus months. They're concerned about health care," Buerkle said.
Miner said, "We're all making decisions based on a whole host of things. But when you start looking at that the Republicans have party leaders who say that women should have unnecessary procedures before they make a choice for themselves on their reproductive, or that when they start to redefine rape, all of a sudden you say 'now wait a second.'"
