Fire and Rescue Day at the Fair
Day 8 at the New York State Fair means it's Fire and Rescue Day. Thursday is also highlighted by Veteran's Day at the Fair, and with proper identification, military personnel can get into the fair for free. YNN's Brad Vivacqua has more from the Fire Safety Zone at the Fair.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- As part of Fire and Rescue Day at the state fair, you're encouraged to visit the Fire Safety Zone. It's open every day from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Children will particularly enjoy the House of Hazards as they identify the hazards that may cause a fire. Smaller children will also enjoy the daily puppet shows and Hector the Oversized Smoke Detector.
Officials said Fire and Rescue Day is also a great day to thank a firefighter and acknowledge their efforts.
"Fire safety day is every day of the year. You should be conscious of what you're doing around your house, even for a safety standpoint for young kids and hot water and things like that so every day should be fire safety day," said Fran Stepien, a Fire Education Center Volunteer.
