PAMELIA, N.Y. -- A man is dead after a crash in Jefferson County.

It happened on State Route 12 in the Town of Pamelia around 6:30 am on Thursday. The road was closed between Teal Drive and State Route 342 for three hours while officials reconstructed the crash.

Sheriff's deputies said Travis Fuller, 24, an employee of Jefferson Concrete was flagging a truck onto the road when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver told authorities they did not see the man in the road. Officials said it happened right as the sun was rising so it could have been difficult to see.

They said Fuller was wearing a reflective vest. He was taken to Samaritan Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
