NEW YORK STATE FAIR -- A competition over at the Poultry Barn was certainly something to bock about.

The long-time tradition of the rooster crowing competition is always a family favorite. It's been going on since the beginning of the New York State Fair and runs for the length of it. A winner is picked each day and there will be a crow-off on the last day to crown a winner.

Organizers say the roosters aren't the only ones who get into the competition.

"We kind of think of it as sometimes the audience is more on show than the crowers. Sometimes we get a large crowd and they'll cheer a lot for their favorite bird and it just makes for a very fun family thing," said Kellee Jean-Lounsvery.
