Two new probable human West Nile cases
ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Onondaga County Health Department says there are now two more probable cases of West Nile in humans. Both cases involve adults who were briefly hospitalized and are now recovering.
In addition, mosquito pools collected from three locations in the county have tested positive for West Nile. The samples were collected from Island Road and Taft Road in the Town of Cicero and Midler Avenue in Syracuse.
Health Commissioner Cynthia Morrow says with the virus being this widespread, it is critical that the public take measures to reduce their risk of being bitten.
