ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- An investigation into a sexual assault has landed an Oneida County man behind bars.

Detectives with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center arrested Ryan Whitman, 28, of Vernon, accusing him of raping an underage girl in the City of Rome.

Whitman has been charged with first degree rape and was jailed on $50,000 bail.
