SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- While the focus has been on the Republican Party all this week, Democrats in Onondaga County are rallying support for their local candidates.
Party faithful gathered at the Palace Theatre in Syracuse at what was dubbed a "Blue Rally." Candidates from all the different levels of government were on hand. Some even took to the podium. They say they're looking forward to having their voices heard at the Democratic National Convention next week.
"The democrats are the true voice of the working people in this country, the middle class, the working poor and the just plain poor and I'm hoping that the convention will serve to rally the party behind the president and behind our local candidates," said Onondaga County Democratic Committee Chair Mark English.
The Democratic National Convention runs Tuesday through Thursday of next week and we will continue our extensive convention coverage with live reports every night throughout the event.
