Anchor Jackie Robinson retiring
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A long-time staple of news in Central New York has announced her retirement.
According to CNY Central, after 34 years, Jackie Robinson will anchor her last newscast next week.
Robinson grew up in North Syracuse and started her career at WSTM television in the early 1970s. She became the first African American anchor at WSTM in 1985.
Robinson has received dozens of awards over the years and worked with countless non-profit organizations.
Her last newscast will be next Tuesday.
