MINOA, N.Y. -- No one was injured after a fire broke out at a home in Minoa.

Officials say they were called to the home on Hulbert Street around 4 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible kitchen fire. Crews had to fight the fire from outside after the roof collapsed.

Those in the area at the time couldn't believe the amount of smoke and fire coming from the house.

"I was on my way home from work and I was coming around the corner and I saw smoke and people standing on the side of the road and as I drove past the house, I called 911,” Erin Edwards said.

“Upon my arrival on scene, I had heavy smoke and fire coming from the side of the residence where the kitchen basically, called a structure fire alarm, so we have probably about six departments on scene plus backfill and all the departments that came to the scene," Minoa Assistant Fire Chief Richard Sabin.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
