STEUBEN COUNTY -- Motorcyclists across the Steuben County area, and even from Canada, came out Saturday to ride for the Greater Steuben Chapter of the American Red Cross. The Corning Hogs and other groups organized the third annual Ride for Red.
About 150 motorcyclists showed up for the fundraising event including the New York State Police, the American Legion Riders and the Milton-Ontario Hog Chapter. The bikers traveled from the American Twin Harley Davidson in Painted Post, 90 miles around the Finger Lakes Region. Red Cross officials said they are thrilled that this year was bigger than past years because it gives them that extra boost.
"This benefits our local disaster relief, our local programming and services, and it gives us a shot in the arm financially, early on in the fiscal year," said Brian McConnell., Executive Director, Greater Steuben Chapter, American Red Cross.
Before and after the ride, bikers were able to enjoy music, food, and a variety of vendors.
