ELLISBURG, N.Y. -- One person is dead and another is in the hospital following a rollover crash in Jefferson County.
It happened on State Route 289 in the Town of Ellisburg around 8:40 last night.

Sheriff's Deputies say Gaige Knapp, 19, of Watertown was driving a Corvette when he lost control of the car, hit an embankment, and then rolled over several times.
Knapp was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with unknown injuries.

A passenger, Trevor Robinson, 17, of Adams, died at the scene.

Officials say speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The accident is still under investigation.
