SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police are investigating two different armed robberies that occurred in the city overnight. The first one took place around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday morning on the 600 block of Park Street. Authorities said two men assaulted a bicyclist and then stole his bike. The suspects were seen fleeing towards Schneider Street.

The second incident happened just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Police said a 50-year-old woman was walking on Spencer Street when a man ran up behind her, and tried grabbing her purse. The suspect then shoved the woman to the ground, and stole her purse. He was last seen entering a white, four-door sedan with black stripes.

The suspect is described as approximately 30-years-old, about six feet tall, and weighing about 250 pounds. He has a brush cut, dark hair, and long sideburns with a goatee. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
