SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A motorcycle crash has left one person dead. It happened just before 8 a.m. Monday on the Old Liverpool Road Ramp to Interstate 81 south.

Syracuse police say the motorcycle hit the guiderail. Stephen Neider, 42, of North Syracuse, was operating the bike and was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital.

The ramp was shut down for about three hours while police were on the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
