SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- With the New York State Fair coming to a close, construction has resumed on Interstate 81 in Syracuse.

I-81 South was backed up to Carousel Mall both Tuesday morning and during the evening rush hour. The delays also trickled over to 690, as drivers tried to find an alternate route.

The re-paving work on Interstate 81 is being done near the Spencer Street bridge.

The work is expected to last until September 25th. Until then, drivers can expect delays during the busiest hours.
